Trelliscreative Selects La Luz Center of Sonoma, Ca to Receive Annual Donation
December 2007 - When TrellisCreative.com was first launched, we created our giving mission: to donate 10% of our annual sales to local non-profit organizations that offer assistance to Latino and immigrant workers and their families.
We’re delighted to announce that we have selected La Luz Center as our first recipient for our annual giving program. Thank you La Luz Center, and a heartfelt thank you to those in our community whose behind the scenes hard work keep us thriving. Without your effort, we and many other businesses wouldn’t exist.

For over a decade La Luz Center has been the light for Sonoma Valley, California in its efforts to fully include all ethnic and cultural groups in the rich life of our community. They have worked to be sure that basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, a decent job and a meaningful education are available to all. La Luz has been instrumental in providing information and referral for non-English speakers new to Sonoma Valley, and has worked to develop independence and full participation of the Spanish speaking communities in Valley life through informational forums, cultural exchanges and skill development. They work to increase intercultural appreciation and to break down cultural barriers.
The La Luz Bilingual Center was founded by Ligia Booker in 1985. In 1997 it changed its name to La Luz, because it branched out to activities other than just bilingual programs. With a grant from the Morris Foundation, which has helped La Luz in the past, the center is able to broaden its horizons. La Luz receives no state or federal support. They are supported by the members of the community, individual donations, the United Way, the Vintners and Growers Association's annual Wine Harvest Auction, and by grant support for specific programs.
For more information or to make your own donation to La Luz Center, please visit their website at www.LaLuzCenter.org.
Happy holidays and best wishes for a healthy & happy New Year!

Sonoma Salute to the Arts Features Photography by Trellis Creative
August 2007 - August 4 & 5th we will once again be a featured artist at the Sonoma Salute to the Arts. The festival, which showcases fine wine, food, music, and art, is a great local event for a worthy cause as proceeds from the sales are donated to local art and music education programs in Sonoma Valley.
This will be our fourth year as a featured artist, and are really excited to participate. Some new framed photography will grace our booth walls from the wine country and around the globe, along with one-of-a-kind polaroid transfers.
The event takes place in Downtown Sonoma on Saturday and Sunday August 4 & 5th, 2007 from 10-6pm and is open to the public.

June 2007 - Established by a thoughtful group of Napa Valley vintners in 1981, Auction Napa Valley is the granddaddy of charity wine auctions in America, having given nearly $70 million dollars over its first 26 years for healthcare, youth service and low-income housing charities in Napa County.
This year's invitation, catalog and live auction presentation featured images from the Trellis Creative library. It's always nice to have your work included in the collateral of such a prestegious event as that of Auction Napa Valley. We're extremely grateful.

Giving Back to Our Community
February 2007 - We at Trellis Creative believe life should not be all about “Me, me, me. What can you do for me?” Rather, we feel that those in a position to help, should. Gratefully, our success in providing unique wine and lifestyle photography has put us in a position to help. Our giving mission is to donate 10% of our annual sales to our local Sonoma and Napa, California charitable organizations that offer assistance to Latino and migrant workers and their families.
The Backbone of the Industry
They are the behind the scenes heroes, the heavy lifters, the sentinels of the vines, the backbone of the industry… Each year, and for as far back as forever ago, local immigrant and migratory Latino families work many of the jobs in the wine industry the average consumer or wine drinker doesn’t often consider as they sip their pinot. Many long and tiring days are spent lifting, pruning, picking, cleaning, sorting in rain, sleet, hot, cold, day and night.
Anyone who has spent time in or around a vineyard or winery knows that these jobs are quite labor intensive and often don’t pay particularly well. Couple that with the extraordinary cost of living, lack of education and the language barrier and you create a dire situation for one of our hardest working segments of the population.
Luckily, there are several local organizations that offer access to vital services like housing, health care, education and employment. Unfortunately, many of these programs are privately funded and rely on the generosity of the community rather than state or federal funding. I’ve been fortunate to know and support several organizations and individuals, who have donated their time, money and resources for the sake of improving the lives of our neighbors. Now, Trellis Creative is taking a more active approach towards helping too.
In the coming months, a more detailed list of beneficiaries and donation schedule will be available.
Of course, none of this giving would be possible without the support of our friends and clients. So on behalf of the Trellis Creative team, thank you for your business and helping to strengthen our community.
Sincerely,
Jason Tinacci
Founder, Trellis Creative
