"We bones that are here, are waiting for yours," reads the inscription at the entrance to the Bones Chapel, a Franciscan temple of prayer and meditation in Evora, Portugal. Created entirely from the exhumed bones from the town cemetery, it was meant to have the living think about their earthly behaviors because it has consequences in the afterlife.
